Community Visits to Historic Filipino Town, Little Tokyo, and Chinatown
Before the conference begins on Friday, students who arrive early will have an opportunity visit Historic Filipino Town, Little Tokyo, and Chinatown. Trams will leave USC at 4PM and return at 8PM so that students can explore the culture and history of these communities. The cost for USC students is $2. The cost for non-USC students is $5. Space is limited, so please indicate in the registration form whether you would like to reserve a spot on the tram and which neighborhood you would like to visit.

Community-Based Organizations Mixer
After the opening keynote on Friday night, the conference will feature a mixer with local grassroots organizations so that students can chat with representatives from the organizations to discover more about the organizationsÌ work. We hope that this mixer will also encourage students to seek out opportunities to work with non-profit organizations in their own communities. Light refreshments and drinks will be served.

Graduate School and Career Fair
There will be a graduate school and career fair during lunch and afternoon breaks on Saturday. Several schools and companies will provide information about jobs, internships, and graduate school programs. Please check back soon for a list of the schools and companies that will be in attendance.

NAASConpalooza! (Performance Showcase)
After the dinner banquet on Saturday evening, we have an exciting night planned featuring performances by local student and professional APA artists and performers. View the performance lineup

Sunday Boycott Assi Market!
Two years ago, workers from Assi Supermarket called on a community-wide consumer boycott of Assi Supermarket for unfairly firing over 50 workers who were fighting for better working conditions and wages. Join former Assi Supermarket workers and community in a march and rally in front of the market in the heart of Koreatown.

Please go to http://www.kiwa.org for more information on this campaign. We will leave after the workers rights campaign plenary on Sunday morning. Directions will be provided at the conference.
